Belkyra (Deoxycholic Acid) a natural occurring molecule that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.  Indicated for improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe convexity or fullness associated with submental fat (SMF) in adults.  Not recommended for Pregnant or nursing women. 


How long does the treatment take?

Once the area has been marked off with the skin marking grid, Belkyra is typically given in a 15-20 minute in office treatment session. Your doctor will administer a series of injections in the area under your chin at each treatment session.

Is there downtime?

For most people, downtime is minimal and occurs most commonly after the first treatment session. When scheduling your treatments, keep your social plans and work commitments in mind.

What are the side effects?

As with any other injectable, you may experience side effects with Belkyra. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, and numbness. Most patients experienced mild to moderate side effects and decreased with subsequent treatments.
